“Life, Hope, Truth” by Dustin Hunt // Summer 2021
1045 East Grand River // East Lansing, Michigan
Approximately 40’ W X 12’ H // latex and spray paint
For this project our goal was to create something vibrant, fresh, and inspirational while incorporating nature and text. We chose regional plants (black walnut, sumac) with medicinal qualities, a regional bird (american goldfinch), and text designed to be uplifting. Blue geraniums were requested to be included for their shape and overall beauty.
We want to recognize our apprentice extraordinaire Sarah, for her dedication, commitment, muscle and talent. Sarah came ready to learn and ready to paint each and every day. She took to spray paint naturally, blocked out massive sections with bucket paint, worked through scorching heat, and quickly became an asset to the project. Sarah also knocked out the pocket wall of sumac silhouettes like a champ.
Special thanks to Lindsay for being a constant advocate and supporter of this project. Our initial conversations took place in April of 2019. Lindsay was steadfast, communicative, supportive and determined to see this mural through, despite the challenges 2020 presented. Thanks Lindsay!
As always, thanks to McShane Photography for the great flicks.
